(Received July 12, at 11.1 p.m.) The latest move in the shipping troubles is the tying up of the Howard Smith steamer Kanowna. The crew lias been paid off. Three of the Adelaide Company s steamers —the Baxunga, the Baldina, and the Dundala—have been placed on the idle list. The company decided not to put Uicm into commission after overhaul owing to the uncertainty of the position.
