‘'They are proud of their train? America, hut for attention and comfort they cannot, come up to the English trains,” s; Mi?s Henderson, addressing a meeting of members of the W.G.T.U. at Christchurch the other day. One fault she found with the American trains was that they seldom arrived on time. When she asked the conductor of a train when they would arrive at their destination, she received the reply: ‘'The Lord knows." Another matter that she objected to was the fact that, except at the principal stations, there were no station platforms. At the places where there were no platforms, she had to he assisted to the train by a couple of men, which she rather resented.— (Laughter.J
