ROAD CONSTRUCTION.

The completion of the West Coast road between Westport and Greymouth was urged on the Minister of Public Works by a deputation from the Bailor Progress League and Westland public bodies. It was stated that the work could be done in 18 months at a cost of £20,000. The Hon. Mr Coates caid that £46,000 had been spent on the road already. Did they, he asked, want all other works stopped in the district and efforts concentrated on this road? Mr T. H. Harkness said he thought the road should take precedence. If we decide to concentrate on the road, other works will have to be cut out.
