APPRECIATION OP NEW ZEALAND APPLES. (Fuott Or® Own Cor.nEsroxDEXT.) LONDON, May 8. Various fruit shops in Fleet street and the vicinity are making a very good display ot choice Now Zealand apples. Cox’s Orange Pippins are making a special appeal to purchasers. The price varies from 2Jd per apple to 3d, and tho fruit at these prices is meeting with a ready sale. At one Fleet street fruit store the country of origin is well advertised, and at another it is not mentioned. When it was remarked to the head salesman that he ought to display the word “Now Zealand.” he curtlv queried, “Why should I?” At tho momcnt'he was very busily unpacking a case of cho.ce apples from the Nelson district, and eating one with evident relish. This year, it is interesting to note, marks the fourth centenary of the introduction o' the i in-jin to the Mother Country.
