DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Business on the Dunedin Stock Exchange has been satisfactory during the week. A little activity was displayed in Bank of Australasias on an improving market Sales were effected at £l4 5a 6d, closing yesterday with a buyer at £l4 6s 6d and a seller at £l4 11s. Bank of New South Wales have not been quoted readily, and the market dosed far the week with buyers at £4l and j sellers at £4l IDs respectively. Bank of New I Zealands have accounted for a good deal I of business, and closed slightly easier. The , Iralance sheet figures are now available, and < chow highly satisfactory results for the past year. The profits were £840,485, as against .-175,703 last year. The same dividend as last - year was recommended, and £250,000 added to the reserve, and £513,290 carried forward —a total of £3,088,299. Commercial Banks have improved, buyers offering 30a 6d, while - : - sellers are asking 31s. There is but little (Iteration in National Banks. National Insurances changed hands yesterday at 70s 6d on the morning call, and during the afternoon several hundred shares were turned over at 70s £d and 71s, the market closing with buyers t.t 70s 9d and sellers at 71s 3d. New Zealand Insurances touched 34s 6d during the week, and are still on offer at this price. Standards improved to buyer 43s Gd, seller 45a. Huddarts have been stationary, buyer 41s 3d, seller 44s 9d. . Westport Coals are slightly easier. G old-sbrough, Morts (new issue) vhas not helped to improve the quotations for shares, buyers 475, sellers 47s fid. The Now Zealand Refrigerating Company is offering £300,000 of debentures. 5i per cent, f ree of tax, and 6J per cent, taxable to 4s 64 hi the £l. Half the amount is required to radeem a 6 per cent, debenture issue about ti mature, but the directors do not indicate what the balance is required for. The shares have weakened, nonunion Rubbers had a further rapid rise during the week, and ace now quoted, buyers 325, sellers 34s 9d. Dunedin -Stock Exchange, Proprietary shares are in demand at 655, New Zealand Paper Mills have improved from 19s 7d last week to sales 20s 6d, buyer 20a 6d, and seller is 9d. Wilsons Portland are wanted, ax div., 32s 3d, with sellers Is higher. Now Zealand Breweries (Ltd.) are firm at 40s, without sellers, and sales have been made m the debentures at 225.
