THE BISHOP OF OXFORD. Pres. Association —By Telegraph—Copyright* LONDON", June 11. . The death is announced of the Bishofl of Oxford.—A. and N.Z. Cable. The Rt. Rev. Hubert Murray Burge* M.A., has been Bishop of Oxford since 1919 He was bom in August-, 1862, and was educated at Bedford Grammar School, Marlborough and Oxford, He was a fellow and tutor of University College, Oxford, in 1890, and Dean in 1895. He was headmaster of Repton School in 19C0, andl of "Winchester from, 1901 to 1911, and was Bishop of Southwark from 1911 to 1919. He was made chaplain of tha Order of St. John of Jerusalem in England in 1909, and sub-prelate in 1911, and was Chancellor of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. He contributed “Essays on Secondary Education.”
