BIG WILLIAMSON ATTRACTION.
“WILDFLOWKB.” The now phenomenally sucessful musical play “Wildllower" will bo presented by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., at His Majesty's Theatre on. Saturday week, .Tune 13, by a specially organised English musical comedy company headed by Miss Mari'' Burke* “For seven months,” writes the, critic of the Sydney Sun. “the Theatre Royal, Sydney, has boon practically filled to capacity with the latest J. C. Williamson musical play, “W.iltlllower.” This success, it would apphar, is due mainly to (he. originality of the intriguing story, the lavishness of the costuming, the beauty of the niise en scene, and the’ exceptionally capable company that interprets the, play, headed by a new performer of brilliant-, musical comedy gifts. Miss Marie Burke Tliis clever London comedienne will be seen tor the first time in Dunedin as Nina in “W'ildllower,” a part she was the originator of in the New York production of the play. Other members of the com pan-v who figure importantly are Messrs (Jus Bluett, Herbert Browne, Charles Zoli, Noel Allan,’John Fordo, and Misses Marie I.a Varre, Marjorie Daw. A specially brilliant performance is given by the Spanish dancers, the Oansino Brothers, and Stoneburn. “But,’ ’writes the critic of the Sydney Telegraph, “it is the music of the play that is the chief charm of a tohorughly charming entertainment.” In short. Messrs Herbert Hothard and Vincent Youmans have composed some of the most alluring numbers that, have graced a musical play for many years. “Wildflower” will ho played for the first four nights. The box plans will be opened at the Bristol Piano Company on Thursday. The second production of the season will t>e a further new musical play, “The Cousin from Nowhere."
