RUGBY FOOTBALL.
ALHAMBRA v. EASTERN DISTRICT. A large crowd turned out on Wednesday afternoon to see r<jc match Alhambra v. Eastern Districts. A pood deal of rain had fallen early in the morning, and the, ground was in poor order. Considering the greasy ball, however, both sides got, in some lino passing rushes, and the game was fast and interesting from start to finish. The final scores were: Eastern Districts (one converted try, two penalty goals, and one goal from a mark), Alhambra, 4 (one potted goal). The Rev. Mr Richards was the referee.
