RABBITING AT MOUNT PISA.

TO THE IDITOB. Sir, —I read with interest a letter in the Otago Daily Times on April 30 by "Mount Pisa Rabbiter.'' writing from Luggage. As the new settlers took over tho rabbiting only since May 1 1 think it "would be only fair if "Mount Pisa Rabbiter" had waited awhile and then commented on what the new settlers are actually doing and not on what it. wels rumoured they would do. I cannot speak for all the new settlers on Mount Pisa, but of the three near Lug gate I do not know of one by whom an old trapper has been put off. The remarks of "Mount, Pisa Rabbiter" about the old trappers having rabbited all the summer and looking to make the money to compensate for their summer's work are somewhat exaggerated, for he must knowthat all rabbiting on Mount Pisa was stopped during the greater part of last summer, the rabbiters having to seek othei employment. I may add that it is quite unnecessary for him to urge tho Field Fnspector to k'ee;> his eye open, as the official acting' in that capacity knows his work, and no doubt will treat the new settlers fairly, knowing : the difficult problem thp\ are faced with in dealing with the rabbit pest. —1 am, etc., Old Trapper. Luggato, May 7.
