RAVENSBOURNE REGATTA
LARGE ENTRIES RECEIVED. A mooting of tho Ravcnsbourne Regatta Committee was held last evening in the boath'hod. Mr H. E. Mollcr’presided, and tliero was a record attendance. Everything in connection with the annual regatta. to bo hold on Saturday next was definitely arranged. It was decided that there be no postponement cf tho regatta. Tho question of sailing tho Boys’ Dinghy Race, should the weather Ire utavourablc, was left in tho hands of tho sailing judges t<> decide. All tho other races on tho programme will bo held. Substantial entries have been received for the sailing and motor boat races. Tbo entries for tho rowing events, however, are very disappointing, and in view of this it was decided to extend tho time for receiving further entries until to-night. In the race for the. Youths’ Fours only tho I’ort Chalmers Club has entered, and in tho Maiden Fours only the North End and tho Port Chalmers Clubs have entered. The afternoon tea arrangements in tho hoatshed will bo. carried out. by Dio members of tho Ra-vensbourne Ladies’ Hockey Club, and the Dunedin Pipe Band will play selections on tho green outside tho boatshed. It was found necessary, under instructions from tho Health Department, to delete the model yacht races oral the swimming races, also the launch trips for children from (ho programme. Children under the age of 16 will not bo allowed in tho boatshod. Tho Chairman congratulated the residents of tho district on tho libera! manner in which they had supported the regatta. This, ho said, showed once again that tho people wore keenly interested in tho advancement of the district. The prizes will ho presented at tho regatta dance to bo held in (lie Ravensbonrne Town Hall on Saturday evening.
