SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF TEMPERANCE.

The fortnightly meeting of the Antidote Division of the Sons and Daughters of Temperance was held in the Tailoressos’ Union Rooms, Dowling street, on Monday last. Bro. C. W. Crawford, W.P., presided over a good attendance of members. The annual balance sheet was received and adopted. Bro. Wm. Crawford complimented the division on the creditable financial position of the society. The sick and funeral fund has a credit balance of £9345 6s, and the management fund of £475 2s lid. The interest for the year on investments amounted to £584 17s 9d. The total worth of tiie division is £10,334 19s 3d—an increase of £472 16s Bd, eoual to £75 9s per brother and £37 14s 6d per sister. At a special meeting of the division it was resolved to deal with the surplus as declared by the registrar in 1922, and by a unanimous vote of the members a motion was carried that, on all members attaining the age of 60 rears the division would pay their sick and funeral contributions from the interest earned by the purylus fund.
