EVIDENCE BY NEWTON. Presa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 7. (Received January 8, at 7.45 p.m.) The Hobbs case was continued in tho Bow street court. Newton pave evidence that the greatest influence which led him to come to England to give evidence was Hobbs's action in accusing him of forgery at a time when they were supposed to be friends. On beirtij cross-examined Newton said that Arthur bought his share of the proceeds of the second cheque for 600,000 francs. He spent the £40,000 which ho had received and also the 600,000' francs.— Reuter. .
