RS.—While in Chicago I had tho honour of painting the largo coloured picture, which was used for promotional purposes, of the Permanent Building Exhibition of that city for Mr Joseph Loiter, the famous American millionaire whoso sister was tho first Lady Curzon of England, and who, by (he way, did not build the treasure vault of his Washington residence strong enough, as it has now been emptied of its liquid contents after a series of robberies. 1 also designed and painted tho picture of the Exhibition and Convention Hal! used as the headquarters of the lumber merchants of America. This largo building was built of logs and on tho show grounds close to Chicago.
