A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE.
LORRY RUNS OVER BANK. (Per United P/.ess Association.) ELTHAM, January 7. A miraculous escape from injury wan experienced by Messrs A. R. Gower (lorry proprietor) and Yates, of Eltham, yesterday afternoon, when Mr Gower’s lorry went over a steep bank at a dangerous corner near Pukengahu. The steering gear locked and the lorry went over the bank through a hedge and a wire fence, and -ended its career in a bog, after travelling over a chain. Luckily the lorry travelled on an even angle and did not capsize. No injuries were sustained by tho occupants and very little damage was done to tho lorry.
