FIGHT PROMOTOE’S FAILURE
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, ‘December 9. (Received Dec. 10, at 8.40 p.m.) The examination has been concluded in the Bankruptcy Court of Arnold Wilson. The statement of affairs showed that his liabilities amounted to £17,316, gild his estimated assets to £344. The debtor said he lost £16,000 promoting the fight at Wembley between Gibbons and Bloomfield.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
At a meeting of the creditor’s of Major Arnold Wilson, the boxing promoter, in August last, a it was elicited that in order to carry out the contests at the Albert Hall and the Olympia Wilson resorted to the money-lenders, to whom he owed £6OOO. The Official' Receiver announced that the proved debts amounted to £12,000, and the assets were practically nil. He feared that there were poor prospects of any funds from the GibbonsBloomfield fight.
