BRISBANE, December 9. Tho Englishmen commenced a day and a-half match against Toowoomba in fine weather. England in their first innings made 277 for two wickets (Hobbs 27, Hearne 149 not out, Sutcliffe 90).
ENGLISH TEAM IN SOUTH AFRICA.. CAPETOWN, December 9.
At Bulawayo, Rhodesia in their first innings made 121. and, following on, made 212 in their second innings (Gemmill 50). England in their second innings lost two wickets for 40, winning by eignt wickets.
