The Federal Line steamer Cumberland, having discharged the balance of her general freight from Liverpool and loaded a quantity of dominion products, left Port Chalmers last evening for Wanganui roadstead to continue loading. The Holmdale arrived hero yesterday morning from Wellington with a largo general cargo. The vessel was worked until 10 last night, but as loading and discharging operations could not be completed in time to enable her to eail at midnight, her departure for way ports and Wanganui has been postponed until this evening. The Navua arrived here shortly before 1 p.m. yesterday from Auckland and Lyttelton with a large quantity of assorted freight, including fruit, ex the Tofua, from Island ports, and 400 tons of sugar. The Navua is to sail this evening for Lyttelton, "Wellington, and Auckland. The Gale is due at Dunedin this morning from Tlmaru, and is listed to sail to-night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Flora, having loaded a large quantity of general cargo, sailed last evening for Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton to complete loading for Napier and Gisborne. She is due back here about December 20.

The Canterbury Company's new steamer Storm is now expected at Port Chalmers this morning from Lyttelton. She will go into dry dock immediately on arrival for cleaning and painting. The vessel will load at Dunedin about Monday next for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The John is due at Dunedin on Monday from Wellington to load for Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. She will load also at Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. The Opihi is duo hero early this morning from Wellington, and is listed to sail this evening for Nelson, New Plymouth, and Westport, via ports. She will subsequently load coal at Westport for Dunedin. The Wingatui is to leave Timaru to-day for Bluff and Dunedin. She will load hero about Tuesday next for East Coast ports and Auckland. The Wanaka is ‘expected to leave Auckland on Monday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Waikouaiti is due at Dunedin tomorrow from Newcastle and Sydney, via BluS, with general cargo. Niagara, left Auckland on Tuesday night for Sydney in continuation of her voyage from Vancouver. The Waitemata is to sign off her crew, and will remain at Lyttelton until after the Christmas holidays. The White Star liner Olympic. recently crossed the Atlantic for the hundredth time. She has steamed 850,000 miles. The Port Auckland, of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, left London on November 28 for Australian ports The Port Brisbane, Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer, loft Dunkirk on November 30, en route to Hull, Antwerp, Liverpool, London, and Germany. The C. aud D. steamer Port Wellington left Sydney on November 25 for Liverpool, via ports, carrying the greater part of the Perndale’s cargo. The Port Denison, of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line ? arrived at Antwerp on November 25 from Auckland, via porta. PORT HUNTER FROM LONDON. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Hunter arrived at Dunedin late yesterday afternoon from London, via Panama, Auckland, and Wellington, and was berthed at the Victoria whajf to discharge 2500 tons of general cargo. The Port Hunter sailed from London on October 19, and experienced a fair weather uneventful voyage. Besides cargo the vessel brought a number of passengers for New Zealand Captain S. C. Cotterell is in command of the Fort Hunter, and he has associated witn him the following officers: —Chief, C. P. Thrower; second, A. A. Cooper; third, C. F. Post; fourth, J. T. Weldin; chief engineer, J. S. Gray; second, R. F. Hill; third, J. Orabbo; fourth, A. B. Wenlock; fifth, F. Washington; sixth, J. F. Young; seventh, A. Rankin; chief refrigerating engineer, rl. E. Hutton; second, D. G. Baird; chief steward, H. W. Bray; first wireless operator, J. H. Petherick; second, H. P. Lewis.

The Port Hunter will Bail about the end of the week for Bluff, Timaru, Auckland, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton to load for England. She will sail finally from Lyttelton about January 10 for London, via Cape Horn. MOERAKI FROM MELBOURNE. The Union liner Moeraki is due at Dunedin this morning from Melbourne, via Wellington and Lyttelton. On arrival she will berth at the Rattray street wharf to discharge a large quantity of general cargo. The Union Company hope to despatch the Moeraki this evening for Bluff and Melbourne. LAS VEGAS DUB TO-DAY. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the Swayne and Hoyt Line steamer Las Vegas is due at Dunedin this afternoon from Lyttelton. On arrival she will berth at the Rattray street wharf to discharge general cargo, case oil, and lumber loaded at Seattle, Vancouver, and San Francisco. WAIMANA LEAVES LIVERPOOL. Cable advice received by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company states that the W'aimana left Liverpool on December 5 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Auckland on January 13, and at Dunedin about January 27. 3» KONINI FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA. The Union Company advise that the new steamer Konini arrived at Adelaide on Sunday last from England. The vessel loaded part cargo at Adelaide and Edithburg, ,and was expected to leave the latter port yesterday for Wallaroo to complete loading lor Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. She is to leave Wallaroo to-morrow, and should arrive here about December 21. PAKIPAKI FROM NEW YORK. The steamer Pakipaki, formerly the Ham Line steamer Trewinnard, arrived at Auckland on Tuesday evening from New York and Newport News, via Panama. The vessel ia laden with general American freight, and after discharging part cargo at Auckland will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth, Sydney, and Melbourne to complete discharge. She is due here about December 23. JARRAH FROM BUNBURY. Tho Swedish steamer Sydic was due at Fremantle from Colombo on November 30. She is to load a cargo of jarrah at Bunbury for New Zealand. -oPINNA FROM BORNEO. Tho British Imperial Oil Company advise that the steamer Pinna, from Borneo, is due at Auckland about December 20 to discharge case oil.

ZEALAND IC AT MELBOURNE, The White Star liner Zealandic arrived at Melbourne on December 5 from Hambur? and London. She will complete discharge at Sydney, and will then come to .New Zealand to load for England. Her loading ports are New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Bluff, Port Chalmers (January 6 and 7), Wellington, and Auckland. The Zealandic will sui' finally from Auckland about January 21 lor London.

NEWCASTLE C(3aL SHIPMENTS. The amount of coal (including bunkers) shipped at Newcastle during the week ending November 29 for places beyond the State was 93,422 tons, of which 91,603 tons represented shipments for Commonwealth and Ne-,v Zealand ports, the remainder being for foreign ports. For the corresponding period last year, the total was 81,474 tone.

Webster, of the Wingatui. Mr Webster joined the Rakanoa as wireless operator. Mr J. E. Hamer has joined the Rakanoa as chief engineer in place of Mr P. B. Brewer, and Mr L. T. REPAIRS TO THE BARDIC. News by the English mail states that an examination of the While Star liner Bardic showed that she stood the strain of the passage to Belfast even better than expected. The repairs may involve the removal of tlir main engines, and will in any event be c' so heavy a nature that they will occupy from three to four months. UNDER THE IRISH FLAG. The steamer Kilcredane, which called at Sydney recently for docking, belongs to the Limerick Steamship Co., and is registered at Limerick, She flies the Irish flag. The Knockfiorna, which also belongs to the Limerick Co., and is en route to Sydney from Port Arthur (Texas), via Lyttelton, with part cargo of bitumen, also carries the Irish flag. Bremen, has been placed in service. She is a vessel of 9000 tons, and is equipped with twin-screw M.A.N. type machinery totalling 3200 h.p. This is the second motor craft for the North German Lloyd, the first being the Erfurt. Tho Konigsberg is equipped with a single-blade X lettner rudder. GERMAN BARQUE AT SYDNEY. The German four-masted barque Gustav, hailing from Hamburg, was Among the arrivals in Port lackson on December 2. She is from the Baltic with a cargo of wood pulp and pine. Of the vonsignment. 2000 tons of pulp are for Sydney, and a quantity of Baltic pine is to be landed in Melbourne. The Gustav, which was formerly known as the Austrasia, is British built, having been launched from Russell and Co.’s yard® on the Clyde in 1892. The barque made the run from the English Channel in 92 days. The Gustav left Sundsvall on August 12. The passage was marked by normal weather. From Sydney the barque proceeds to Melbourne.
