THE SANDERS CUP TRIALS. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —There are three boats practically equal, so far as trials are concerned. Now the selectors have almost decided that the lona is the best bout to represent Otago. I understand that the best boat, best crew’, and best gear are required to give us a good sporting chance to lift the cup. It is suggested that Wiseman is the best skipper, and Kellctt the best forward hand; why not try out the crows in the different boats before it is too late? Last season we sent June away, llad Winifred been selected it is quite reasonable to suppose the result might have been in favour of Otago. As things stand at present either Kia Ora or Winifred may be better than lona.—l am, etc., Burkes.
