PLUNKET SHIELD MATCHES. QUESTION OF DATES. (Peb United Pkess Association.) WELLINGTON. December 8. The correspondence between the Wellington and Auckland Cricket Councils dealing with the Plunket Shield, matches was road. Auckland took exception to the remarks made at a recent meeting of the Wellington. Counoil. The Chairman, Mr O. G. Wilson, said that Wellington wanted to foster a friendly feeling, and as Auckland said they were committed to certain datog it would bo as well to fall in with them and play Canterbury on January 1, 2, and 5 and leave the date for the Otago and Auckland matches to bo fixed later on. The chairman added that some better methods of arranging the dates for the Plunket Shield matches should bo found. The chairman’s suggestion was agreed to. The team will leave for Christchurch on December 30.
SATURDAY’S MATCHES. Third Grade. Albion 116 (Duncan 41, L. Silver 20) defeated St. Kilda 101 (Remolds 22, Craik 19, Luskie 10) by 16 runs. For Albion, L. Silver took live wickets for 21 and Duncan three for 53, and for St. Kilda Spillano took four wickets • and Prehblp throe wickets. Boys’ Association. Albion (105 tor four wickets, declared) defeated Bt. Peter’s (16 and 16) bv an innings and 73 runs. For Albion, Loader 41, Miller 21, Sinclair 19, and Fox 15 not out batted well, and Sinclair five for seven and nine for nine, and MacAvoy five for nine shared the howling honours, Albion secured a three-point win.
