Sir Maurice Fitzrnaurice had a consulting engineer’s practice which extended to eveiy continent in the world and nearly every British country. He was concerneo with building docks and harbour works atSingapore and the irrigation scheme for the Sudan Government on the Blue Nile. During the war ho was, like most other f-reat engineers, mobilised for the defence services. He was interested in the defences of London in tho days of the air raids, and he was one of the experts consulted about the drainage of the trenches on the Flanders front.
