WIRELESS WONDERS.
NEW RECORD CLAIMJiw. During the, last week or two there have been a number of records claimed by New Zealand amateur wireless enthusiasts. The setting up of two-way communication between New Zealand and England by Messrs l'\ Hell (Waihemo) and R. Slade and W. L. iShiel (Dunedin) was in itself a (jreat pierforman.ee, but last night Mr Slade achieved something which probacy eclipses all previous efforts, and which he claims to be a record. This was the setting up of communication with England, Chile. Los Angeles, Australia, and New Zealand in one night. As Mr Slade says, he only needed the communicate with South Africa to have been in touch with all parts of the world. The English stations were:—G2NM, SLF, and SMN; Chile, FAL (Santiago); Eos Angeles, V6CGO find U6A3P; Australia. A2YI and A2BK; New Zealand, Z4AK. Mr Slade (Z4AG) states that the total mileage connocted was 57,500. He intends to make an effort to communicate with South Africa at 6.30 this morning.
