ANGLICAN. Tho Anglican Club held its second sports meeting at Forbury Park. The track was heavy. Results ; 220 Yards Handicap.—B. M’Kernan, 16yds. 1; H. A. Ashby, syds, 2; G. "" Tho St. Kilda Harriers hold their final sports meeting at Forbury Park before ; a gathering of spectators, the presence of whom ihdicatt-s a reviving and sustaining interest- in tho affairs of the club, more aspocially by tho officers and officials, prominent amongst whom were Mr E. A. Rosevear and the Rev. Mr Harkness. Seventeen entries wore received for the 440 Yards Handicap, 15 facing tho starter (Mr S. Thomas). In a clinking finish Mercer (10yds) was placed first, 'l. W. Dove (scr.) second, and T. Nelson (35yds) third. Time, 55scc. The Shot Putting was won by George Gibbs (scr.) C. Tidoy (2ft) 2, and T. Nelson (2ft) 3. Tho Hop, Step, and Jump Handicap resulted; T. Nelson (2ft 9in), 1; A. Williams (Ift bin), 2; C. Tidey and J. Nelson (dead heat), 3. The Ono Milo Handicap created greater interest than usual, as upon the result hinged the winning of the club’s Aggregate Cup. However, T Dove (scr.) again won, with Mercer (65yds) second, and Wills (45yds) third. Dove thus wins the coveted prize, which had been held by his brother. As a mark of respect to a departed officebearer, members wore a white band on their arms, and tho secretary was instructed to convey the club’s sympathy to Mrs Kernohan and family. PACIFIC. The Civil Service Harrier and A.A: Club held its second sports meeting at Forbury Park. The weather and track conditions were against fast times, but some good racing was witnessed. Lome (5 points), 4. C AVERSE AM. The Caversham Harriers brought their winter season to a close on Saturday hy having a walk to Port Chalmers. Despite inclement weather conditions, 12 members assembled at the Normanby train terminus at 2.30 p.nri. and proceeded up the low road to Upper Junction, where they were met by Captain Gibbs and Mr O. 0. Phillips, who had come from Pert. Owing to the muddy nature of the roads, it was decided to tf.lce the road down into Sawyers’ Bay and then over tho quarry hill into Port. Tho members were afterwards entertained r.t afternoon lea as the guests of the committee. ST. PATRICK’S. ’The St Patrick’s Harriers held their final sports meeting at Forbury Park. Iho results are as follow : -Half-mile. White and M’Allon (equal) 1, Bradley 3. One Mile Walk.—Cameron 1, M - Alien 2, Bradley 3. _ „ , ~ , Hop, Step, and Jump.—Bradley 1, WtlKer 2, Allan 3. Putting the Shot.—Hulands 1, Allan 2, Walker 3. CAVERSHAM. ’ The Cargill Road Methodist Harriers held their last run from the Wesley Schoolroom. The trail, which was laid by Champion and Chivers, led to St. Clair, then on to the second beach, up the trail round the cliffs to the caves, thence across country to the Green Island road, along this to Shirt's quarry, and down on to Macandrew road, King, Blackburn, and Douglas, being prominent in the home run. After .the run a tea was provided by Mr and Mrs Chivers, to whom a hearty vote of thanks was accorded. A social evening followed, during which the following received prizes won during the year: Five-mile and club champion—T. King 1, B. Groves 2. Sealed handicap (in five-mile) —D. Inglis 1, A. M-aclndoo 2. One mile and a-half (maiden race)—G. Sbmerville 1, D. Inglis 2. BENNETT MEMORIAL SHIELD. (Per United Press Association.; WELLINGTON, September 21. The annual race for the Bennett Memorial Shield was decided on Saturday and aroused more than usual interest, five harrier teams competing. The results are as follow:- —A Grade —Olympic, holders of the trophy (Ilntt), 1; Brooklyn, 2; Scottish (Wellington), 3. B Grade—Olvmpic (Hutt), 1; Brooklyn. 2. Todd (Brooklyn) finished first, Kent (Hutt) ami Dome (Hutt) running second and third respectively. The time for approximately seven miles was 37miu 51sec.
