THE WEMBLEY EXHIBITION
QUESTION OF CONTINUANCE.
A PREMATURE STATEMENT.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright,
LONDON, September 19. The statement that the Empire Exhibition will be continued in 1925 has been authoritatively deprecated as at least premature.—Reuter.
SIR G. FENWICK’S OPINION.
RE-OPENING STRONGLY URGED.
LONDON, September 19. Sir George Fenwick is returning homeward by the Maloja. He joins the ranks of those who are endeavouring to persuade the Government to participate in the reopening of Wembley, pointing out that the Dunedin Exhibition is quite a separate affair. “In mv judgment,” he says, ‘‘New Zealand should provide the necessary amount for another year at Wembley, because the dominion has a really fine show of all her products, resources, and potentialities, which cannot fail to impress visitors, and it affords a splendid means of attracting the right stamp of immigrant, as well as stimulating trade.” —Sydney Son Cable.
