“PADDY’S MARKET.”

Tho Commercial Travellers anti Warehousemen's Association continued their “Big Bag Day” effort for worthy causes by conducting a “Paddy’s Market” at tho foot of the Dowling street steps on Saturday morning. Among the wares they had with which to tempt tho public were clothing, two deer (stored in a freezer), about 400 frozen hares, and 50 rabbits, 30 odd cases of apples, sacks of cauliflowers, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, parsnips, and oysters. About a score of salesmen had a busy time meeting the needs of the public gathered about the tables, and the few shilling tiekest remaining over from Friday wore also disposed of. The total amount of Friday and Saturday’s effort is a sum of £1925 to swell the funds of the Salvation Army, Citizens’ Relief Committee, and the Blind Soldiers and Sailors’ Fund.
