TIRED OF MACARONI

ITALY WANTS BEEF. LONDON, September 6. Mr A. R. Hassan, the representative in England of the Australian Meat Council, informed the special representative of the Sun that Italy had inquired about a supply of 300,000 tons of Australian beef lor October delivery. The Meat Council had placed the prospective buyers in touch with Australian agents. The shortage of New Zealand lamb and mutton, said Mr Hassan, had improved tho prospects of Australian early season’s arrivals, while the beef market was showing an upward tendency./ Germany has modified her regulations refusing to permit of the passage of Australian beef through her ports to other European countries. Mr Hassan states that he has been given to understand that Weddell and Co. have obtained a concession to build cold stores in Germany.
