THE BONDS OF EMPIRE
DOMINIONS’ DOMESTIC PROBLEMS.
ME THOMAS’S ASSURANCE
Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CAPETOWN, September 13. Mr J. H. Thomas (Colonial Secretary), in an interview, reaffirmed that the solution of questions affecting the whole commonwealth, such as the Indian problem, would have to be the work of all parties in the dominions. Th£ conference would not abrogate the rights of each dominion or derogate from its Cabinet responsibility. The conference would explore the whole situation and devise means to avoid friction.—Sydney Sun Cable.
PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATIONS. CAPETOWN, September 13. Mr Thomas presided at a conference at Bloemfontein between, the visiting delegates of the Empire Parliamentary Association and their colleagues in the South African Parliament. The' conference unanimously adopted the principle of (parliamentary delegations visiting the various countries of the Empire at least once m every two years. A proposal by Mr Thomas and Lord Burnham that the next meeting should be held in London was received with enthusiasm. It is expected that there will be several further conferences during the remainder of the tour. — Reuter.
