The annual' report, of the Medical Superintendent, of the Dunedin Hospital gives some interesting information regarding the cost per bed at various periods .since 1916. The annual cost has increased from £B4 18s in 1916-17 to £lO4 6s 5d in 1917-18, to £135 3s 3d in 1918-19 to £l4B Os 4d in 1919-20, to £206 8s 4d in 1929-21, and dccrer.sed to £IBB 19s Id in 1921-22, and increased to £199 13s 7d in 1922-25, and to £226 11s in 1923-24. Forty-six different bodies have a right to break up the streets cf London, while there are 117 different authorities responsible for repairing the roads. Boys and girls leaving the Willesden Schools (England) are taken in hand by the District Council, which endeavours to find them the work for which they are best fitted. ' Parents!
