PIPER SONG SERVICES.
Mr H. Leslie Piper, who has been assisting at series of song services in various parts of Australia and New Zealand, has recently come to Dunedin, and will commence his series of Piper song services in North Dunedin on Sunday next, at the Methodist Church, Dundas street. Mr Piper was trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and has had English as well as Australian experience. Knowji as Australia’s leading sacred song soloist, his forte is in the appealing music of the religious service, and in his programme he usually sings four or five solos with a deep spiritual message in them. Ho is, however, not confined to any one class of music, and will bo taking part in concert work at least once during his short stay in Dunedin. To-morrow, in addition to assisting at the church services at Dundas Street Church at 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. ho will ho hoard at a musical afternoon in the same church at 3 p-m. Jude’s setting of “Jesu Lover of My Soul” and “Peace, be Still,” will be included in his series of solos for the “pleasant Sunday afternoon," and Mrs Geo. Scott will assist with the solo “Unto Thee, O Lord” (Risher). Mr Piper will bo singing each evening next week at the special song services.
