RACING IN AUSTRALIA. THE WARWICK FARM MEETING. SUCCESS OF N.Z. HORSES. GLENTRUIN AND THE CYPHER WIN. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, September 7. , (Received Sept. 7, at 5.5 p.m.) The Warwick Farm races, held on tho Randwick cousre, were the centre of much interest in view of the approaching A.J.C. spring meeting. The weather was fine, and the going good. The attendance was large. New Zealand horses figured prominently, winning the two chief events, and were placed in two others... Glentruin’s victory in tho Warwick Handicap was specially 'meritorious, as she defeated a number of leading sprinters in time equalling a Randwick record, and snatching a victory from another New Zealander by a narrow margin. The Cypher made a fine finish in the September Handicap, stalling off a great effort by Irish Rhythm. Results;— _ Three-year-oid Handicap (Second Division). —Solidify 1, Border Chief 2, Bonaparte 3 There were 14 starters, including Giggle. Won by a length. Time. Imin 384 sec. Flying Welter.—Black Adder 1, Villcroy 2, Director 3. There were 19 starters, which included Cistercian, Bathos, Ktllochra. Lasoelles. Wen cosily by four lengths. Time. Imin 25isoc. \Varwick Stakes. —Glentruin 1, Father’s Voice 2, Braehead 3. The other starters were: The Monk, Otacre, Heroic, Pteropod, Duke Isinglass, Trimacre, Dancer, and Golden Voice. The first to move were Glentruin. The Monk, and Braehead, but Father's Voice quickly moved to the front from Braehead, Glontruin’s position being unchanged into the straight. Glentruin forged ahea dbefore she reached the St. Leger stand, and finished a short neck ?n front of Father’s Voice, who beat Braehead by three lengths. Time Imin H^sec. September Handicap.—The Cypher 1. Irish Rythm 2, Polyoletan 3. The 18 starters included Sunny Loch. The O-nher was the quickest away, attended by Irish Rythm and Sunny Loch. At the mile Polycletan was in charge, with Mirthmaker nearest. The Cypher having fallen back. Polycletan led to the straight from Mirthmaker and Irish Rhythm, The Cypher being next. Passing the distance,. The Cypher came with a rush on the outside, fought out a good finish with Irish Rhythm,. and won by a length and a-half. Time. 2min sjsec.
