CAPTAIN AMUNDSEN
BANKRUPTCY PETITION FILED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CHRISTIANIA, September 5. Captain Amundsen, the explorer, has filed a bankruptcy petition. Ho attributes his failure to heavy losses on his unsuccessful attempt last year to reach the North Pole and to his projected new flight from Alaska to the Pole in an all-metal plane, which he had now abandoned. —A. and N.Z.
