A ROUND OF FESTIVITIES. THREE SUCCESSIVE “NIGHTS OUT.” Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, September 4. (Received Sept. 6, at 9 p.m.) The Prince of Wales spent another night out, the third in succession. He returned to Mr Burden’s home at daylight and arose at noon. So that bis rest should be unbroken, troopers at the gates requested motorists entering the grounds to use the back drive. The Prince during the afternoon refreshed himself by playmg a strenuous game of polo. Leaving Piping Rock at midnight, the Prince, with Lord and Lady Mountbatten and Lord and Lady Milford Haven, attended a jolly party at the home of Mr J. S. Cosden. The fun continued till daylight. • . Prince declined to attend the reception to tho United States world fliers at New York on Sunday, having rigidly excluded official functions from his Holiday. One of the Prince’s attendants expressed surprise at the crowds following the Prince. He declared that his Royal Highness objected to much of the public attention in England and the colonies, but an English crowd never broke tho cordon.—• Reuter. A MYSTERIOUS THREAT. INCOHERENT LETTER OP WARNING. NEW YORK, September 4. (Received Sept. 5, at 10.5 p.m.) A letter to the Prince of Wales saying in part: “If you do not get out of the United States soon you will meet a violent death,” has been received by the French Consol’s office. The letter, which is three pages long, is in most portions incoherent. It is postmarked from Syosset. A telegram from Syosset says that the Prince of Wales found isolation in a motor boat trip to Long Island Sound to-night. The air was chilly and the sea was rough. There were no pursuing crowds after the polo to-day at Mr J. F. Phipp’s estate. He took lunch there with Will Rogers, the comedian. Accompanied by an equerry he played golf at. Cosden’s place and left there at five o'clock on a launch, his destination not being announced.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
