CHILDREN’S REST HOME.
The benefit matinee given in the Princess Theatre on Thursday, in which all the Fuller artists, including Don G. Merle, Togo, 1/ilas Burt, Fiery Jackson and partner, Hartly and Wright, Vaudc and Verne, •Tames Stewart, Knight and Brady, and the Rev. Frank Gorman cheerfully contributed their services, resulted in a sum of £OS being added to the fnnds of the Children's Rest Home. Mr John Hamer and his staff all heartily co-operated in the effort. This assistance has made it possible for the committee to pay off the balance of the mortgage of £4OO on the property. The committee is naturally very pleased and grateful, and the property will now be handed over to the Diocesan Trust Board, the work to be carried on on the same undenominational lines by the present committee with power to add to its number. The Home is in urgent need of extension. The manager of the Home (Mr Dunkley) has great difficulties to face and extra expense incurred in boarding out children temporarily. An effort will bo made in the near future to raise funds to provide extensions so that 30 children instead of 12, ns at present, can be taken into the home.
