Medical Officer of Health, during the month of August:—■ Scarlet Fever.—Otago, four; Vincent, two; Southland, one-; Wallace, one;—eight. Diphtheria.— Waitaki, one; Otago, 18; Southland, one; —20. - Tuberculosis.— Otago, nine; South Otago, one; Vincent, one; Southland, two; 13. Acute Primary Pneumonia-.—Waitaki, three; Otago, 11; South Otago, one; Southland three’; Wallace, three;—2l. Lethargic Encephalitis.—South Otago, one. Erysipelas.—Waitaki, two; Otago, two; Vincent, one; Wallace, one;—six. Enteric.—Otago, three. Puerperal Septicsemia.—Otago, two; South Otago, one; Southland, two ;—five. Hydatids.—South Otago, one. Anfcinomycosis.— -Waitaki, one. A grand total of 79. The following deaths wore reported by undertakers : —Tuberculosis—Otago three, Wallace one ;—four. Acute primary pneumonia, Southland two. Erysipelas, Vincent one. A total of seven.
