SECRET SERVICE AGENT

MANIA OF FRENCH COUNT. LONDON, August 9. Posing as a secret service agent and a special bodyguard to M. Painleve, president of the French Chamber of Deputies, Count Felix Docigaldi has been fined 100 francs on a charge of usurping office. The correspondent of The Times at Paris says that Count Docigaldi announced himself at M. Painleve’s official residence, the Palais Bourbon, examined all the locks on tho doors, inspected the kitchen utensils, superintended the preparation of M. Painleve’s dinner, and finally on the third day paraded the Republican Guard; but when he preceded to give them their orders for the day tho elderly usher could not believe his ears. He reported the matter, and the Count was arrested. The defending counsel said that tho Count’s mind was affected. Ho was actually working as .a house decorator, hut had a mania for secret police work. Tho magistrate advised the count to join the secret service properly.
