MISHAP TO CANADIAN PREMIER. FORTUNATE ESCAPE FROM INJURY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, OTTAWA. August 25. (Received August 26, at 7.35 p.m.) Ten minutes after a Liberal mass meeting at Montreal had opened the speakers platform collapsed, throwing the Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzie King, the Minister of Marine, Mr A. Cardin, and some 50 others to the floor. A cry of horror was turned to a cheer when the Prime Minister was seen to rise, and brush off the water from a jug on the speakers’ table. No one was seriously injured.—Reuter.
