AN UNFORTUNATE ENTERPRISE. LOSS OF £60,000. Press Association—By Telegraph—-Copyright. LONDON, August 24. (Received August 25, at 5.5 p.m.) The Daily Mail says that the production of the Empire Pageant cost nearly £IOO,OOO, and though the attendance was 1,000,000 the loss is at least £60,000. Rain kept thousands away almost every night for six weeks, and entirely prevented seven performances. —Sydney Sun Cable.
