LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION.

DUNEDIN BRANCH. The meeting of the council of the Dunedin branch of the League of Nations Union was largely attended by representatives from various sections of the community, including the commercial (wholesale and retail), educational, industrial, and financial, also from the Council of Christian Churches. A very large amount of Correspondence was submitted, including a tetter from the dominion president relative to securing full representation of New Zealand at the Assembly that meets in Geneva in September. A letter was received grom the local president, tho Hon. C. E. Statham, and communications from the Wellington secretary and several lengthv circulars from the London League of Nations Union. Among these was a report on the successful lecturing tour through Denmark. Sweden. Norway, and Holland by Lord Robert. Cecil on behalf of the Toaguc of Nations societies in those countries. League of Nations annual reports were received from other countries. Japan forwarded a neatly got up booklet, and is bravely carrying on despite the ill-luck in having her headquarters wrecked in the great earthquake. From Wales a bulky publication was received. Tho Principality is wholehearted in the cause of international peace, and every county and every town has a branch. Inc women signed in their thousands an appeal to the women of the U.S.A. to “come in," and tho children broadcasted a message to children all over the world. From the German branch was received a letter signed hr Count Bcmsdorff, who at the outbreak of war was Ambassador in Washington, _ and who became rather notorious by his actions when leaving America. Count Bornsdorff is now a peace advocate, and enclosed a lengths article in which he discusses tho Memo! Settlement. Various publications from tho International Labour Organisations were laid on the table for the information of members of council. The hon. treasurer. Mr ,1. Greenfield, submitted the financial statement.
