AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

TAIERI CLUB. The annual meeting of the Taieri Amateur Atheltic Club, held last night, was presided over by Mr J. F. Frew. There was a largo attendance. Apologies wore received from Messrs M‘Lachlan, J. Mitchell, K. Wylie, and Lennox. The, annual report was read and adopted. Office-bearers were elected as follows: president. Mr F. J. Frow; vice-presidents - Messrs M'Lacttlan, Goisler, J. I’. Walls, ,I." Murray, and J. Logan; secretary and treasurer,' Mr J. Logan; auditors, Messrs M'Lachlan and Croaie.r; handicappers, Messrs Gilchrist and J. While; committee —-Messrs Call, Edwards. Gilchrist. Henderson,' Hendry. J. White, and H. White, \V. W. Turnbull, D. Connor, A. M'Dongall, j \V. Logan, H. Magee, J. A. Miller, j; Mitchell. B. Wyllie, and A. H. Lennox. The, year's programme was discussed, and arranged as follows Evening meetings: N'o. 1 in November, the events being the 100 yards, two-mile, and hop, step, and jump"; No. 2 in December, the events being’ the mile. 220 yards, and high jump; No. 3 in February, when the 120 yards, two-mile, and long jump would ho competed for. The annual mooting was fixed for February 28. It was decided to run a fcnr-milo race some evening at, a date to be fixed. School children’s events and dancing competitions wore added for all meetings.
