RUGBY FOOTBALL SUPREMACY.

TO THE EDITOB. Sin, —In your issue of the 20th inst., "Unbiased" states that "Union is Strength" becomes bold and assertive when he states tliaf. New Zealand holds the world supremacy in Rugby football, and he also asks when and where New Zealand gained this distinction. I would like to say that "Union is Strength" is perfectly right, because the "All Blacks" on their tours of 1903, 1905, and 1913 demonstrated their superiority over every football combination that was brought to play against them. "Unbiased" states that when the "Springboks" were over here they wiped the floor with New Zealand. Did not the Canterbury and New Zealand teams beat them, and did not Ta-r&naki and New Zealand draw with them?

Your correspondent also states that Wales (the gallfint principality) has a claim to R-ug-bv promiersbip. If she is to be considered, how is it that'Wales was at tsre bottom of the pole at Home last season? Another point that may be mentioned is that many of the ablest critics at Home said that Now' ZeaJand should have been srivcn the try that was claimed against Wales when the famous a»*t«h was played in 1905. I hope I hav* explained to "Unbiased" how the "All Blacks" became the proud possessors of the Blue riband of R.ujrby.— I am. etc.. Enzed. August 23.
