A meeting of the South Dunedin Band of Hope was held on Friday night in the Forbury School Gymnasium. Mr Kiikwood was in the chair. The young people present joined with eagerness in the singing, etc. Tho speaker of (he evening (Mr Reid) was so interesting that a further address from him was arranged for a future date. His experiences as a man-o’-warsman were very amusing. The, meeting was closet! with a hymn and prayer. During the evening items wore rendered by the following; Recitations —Miss T. Barrow, Mies E. Kirkwood, Gordon Gallon, and Hugh Holmes; story, Miss D. Park; dialogue by three girls. A malo quartet also contributed to the evening’s enjoyi. cnt.
