Dear Sir, After twelve months’ very hard work with our 7-seater Willys Knight we feel that it is up to us to let you know of the great performance she has put up. This car has been on the service run from Hokitika to Waiho Gorge all the time and has never yet giver, trouble on the road. The car has done 25,000 miles to date and the only replacement we have made is a ballrace in the generator at 14,000 miles. The engine has not given the slightest trouble and is still running as silently as when new with an average petrol consumption of 22 miles per gallon. It is also very light on tyres, doing between 6000 and 8000 miles per tyre, which is considered very good for the West Coast, especially as we often carry as many as 10 and 12 passengers. Last month our Knight put up a new record by being the first car to go to Mahitahi, a small settlement 50 miles south of Waiho Gorge, On this trip we had to ford 12 rivers including the Waiho, Oamaru, Waikukupa, Cooks, Karangarua and Jacobs Rivers and a six mile run on the open beach. All these rivers are rough with wide riverbeds and one of them is over two miles wide. The whole trip was done on our own power without a hitch and a full' load of passengers.
