A MATTER OF URGENCY!
MR ERIE’S QUESTION. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WEIJjIN'fiTON, August CO. Occasionally a bright idea strikes the member for Bruce (Mr Edie), and he takes the Mouse into his confidence about it. Today he asked as a question of urgency whether the Prime Minister would send a cablegram to the New Zealand parliamntary representatives, congratulating them on their safe arrival in South Africa. Mr Edie said ho had read a cablegram in the papers stating that they had arrived safely. The House became hilarious when it heard the question, laughter coming from all parts of the Chamber. Mr Massey replied in the spirit of the moment. Ho said ho did not know that there was any particular urgency about the matter. He had seen the cablegram about the safe arrival of the New Zealand representatives, and ho was very glad to see it. Ho hoped they would enjoy themselves, that they would do credit to the country they represented, and that all would be glad to see them l ack in Parliament.—(Bn lighter.) An lion. Member: Bet them have a run Home to England.—-(Laughter;)
