TIIJI MO AN A CLUB. The annual general mooting of the Jloa'.ra Dawn Tends Club was hold in the Somerset Lounge on Tuesday evening. Mr .V . H. Campbell pro-sided, and there was a large attendance ot members. Nicolson, E. C. Reynolds, and J. Sparrow; secretary, Mr A. Nicolson; treasurer, Mr T. Long; auditor, Mr E. J. Anderson; committee —Misses Black and Bayley, Messrs Allan, Duthie, Cooke; delegates to association, Messrs D. Sherrill and D. Duthie. On the motion of Miss Barclay it was decided to instruct the Ladies’ Committee to see that better arrangements were made for afternoon tea. and a proposal by Miss Sanderson that the ladies’ room be modernised was agreed to. A general discussion then ensued on the rules of the c'ub, particularly those relating to order of play and visitors' days. Instructions were given to the incoming committee which will result in more attention being given to young players than heretofore, and on the motion of Mr SiierrifE it was resolved that visitors' days should bo Monday and Friday of each week. Mr Long brought up the question of erecting a volley board, and this was referred to tlia committee. The opening day was fixed for September 27, and members were asked to take this as an official intimation. After the- formal business had been concluded the president entertained the dub it euppor, and songs were contributed by Mrs Duthie and Miss Heywood and Messrs E. J. Anderson end B. B. Couston. A very pelasant evening v-as brought to a close by a vote of thanks, with musical honours, to Mr F. K. Campbell. ST. ANDREWS CLUB. The eleventh annual meeting ot St. Andrew's Lawn Tennis Club was held in St. Andrew's Hall on Wednesday night. Therewas a good attendance of members. Mr Jas. Farquharson, the president, who occupied the chair, congratulated the members on the harmonious spirit existing in the club and on the excellent showing throughout last sesaon. The election of officers resulted as follow: —Patron, the Rev. Dr Waddell; president, Mr Jas. Farquharson; vice-presidents —the Rev. IX. Maclean, Dr L. E. Barnett, Messrs G. F. Inglis, D. Wilkie, J. Wilkie; secretary, Mr G. Carter; treasurer, Miss E. Park; committee —Mrs Scott, Mrs Murray, Miss Phair, Miss E. Farquharson, Messrs A. C. Cameron, S. P. Cameron, D. Cameron, H. B. Murray; auditor, Mr S P. Cameron. It was decided that the opening day should be Saturday, September 6. After the formal business had been completed the meeting ’ resolved itself into a social gathering, and enjoyable music was dispensed by Miss Dalrymple. ST. HILDA CLUB. The annual meeting of the St. Hilda Tennis Club was held in the BungalowTea Rooms on Tuesday evening, Mr J. J. Marlow- presiding over an attendance of about 50 members. The annual report and balance sheet showed the club to be In a very sound financial position, and that it could practically at once meet the heavy expenditure for repairs in the coming season. Mr Marlow, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet; warmly welcomed all the new members of the club, and congratulated the club on its present satisfactory position. He intimated that the ladies’ list was closed, but that there were still a few vacancies for gentlemen. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mr ,T. J. Marlow; vicepresidents—the Mayor of St. Hilda (Mr C. Todd), Messrs J. C. Marshall, H. Chapman, N. Dawe, Alex. Harris, J. B. Grant, and D. Duncan; committee—Mesdames Pinfold and Tregear, Misses M'Culiough and I. Gore, Messrs Allan, Arnold, Tregear, and Penrose; delegate to 0.L.T.A., Mr Arnold; selector, Mr J. Allan; auditor, Mr N. Dawe; joint secretaries and treasurers—Messrs I. D. Jack and J. B. Deaker.

The meeting decided that it would not this year lie aide to enter an A grade team in the competitions, and it was agreed that two B teams and a C team be entered. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr Tro. gear spoke of Miss D. Gore’s long association with the club, and moved that she lie made a life member. Mr Marlow also spoke feelingly of Miss Gore’s good work since the inception of the club, and said he was honoured to ask Miss Gore to accept life membership.
