MEAT EXPORT TRADE.
BAN ON FORMALDEHYDE.
SEVERE BLOW TO AUSTRALIA.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 13. (Received August 13, at 5.6 p.m.) The Formaldehyde Committee’s decision has greatly disappointed those interested in the Australian and New Zealand meat trade who regard it as inexplicable in view of the use of formaldehyde and similar drugs in medicines. The opinion is expressed that, if the recommendation is enforced Australia will receive a knock-out blow so far as beef is concerned, the trade in which must bo handed over to Argentina. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
