SALE OF TOWN LANDS.

SMALL PL'BOC INTEREST. A total of 96 acres of town lands on renewable lease were offered for sale by auction at the Lands and Survey Office yesterday morning. There was not a large atetnclanco of the public. Seven sections in Bloc!; XXXVII. Alexandra, wore offered at rentals ranging from 15s to 17s 6d half yearly, but. only three of these were applied for. The following were the successful applicants:—Tor section 3 (10a 2r 39p) George Adcock. Alexandra; for section 8 (10a 3r 12p) Charles M. Burgess, Alexandra; and for section 0 (13a 2r 21p) William Bowler, Alexandra. There were six applicants for section 165 Komako township, near Waipiata, of 6a 2r 20p, and after they had been examined by the board a ballot was held which resulted in favour cf Mr C S. I>. Aitchison, of Waipiata. The half-yearly rent is 17s 6d. Section 35 (area 22.9 perches), township of Crankston, Dunedin, was passed in. Seven sections in Alexandra—namely sections 3,6, and 7. Block XL, and 1,2. 3, and 4, Block XLV. of about an acre each in extent, .and at upset prices ranging from £lO 10s to £l2, were all purchased at the upset price by William Noble, of Alex andra. Sections 6 and 7. Block TV, in the town of Hull, were purchased by Mrs Thomas Skuse. of Milton, at the upset price of £5 each. Other four sections in the same block wore passed in. Section 16, Block XX. Lawrence, area 31 porches, was passed in. Sections 10. 11, 12, and 13, Block IV, Ophir. each 1 rood in area, were all purchased by John M'Knight, of Ophir, at the upset price of £1 10s each. Five sections in Pembroke were all pa-ssed in. Nine sections in Roxburgh were offered. Section 3, Block XXII, area 32.2 perches, at an upset price of £3O, was the only one to raise competition. It went to Charles Sloper, of Roxburgh, for £54. Sections 1 to 7. Block XXV, were passed in, and section 8. Block XXV. area 1 rood, was purchased bv Miss Fanny 11. Wallcs, at the upset priee of £ls.
