RUGBY FOOTBALL.
CHARITY SATURDAY. Next Saturday Pirates will meet University A at Carisbrook to play for the .Airipe Shield. The whole of the proceeds of this match will be devoted to charitv. The game is being looked forward to with a vast amount of interest, and is expected to prove a great struggle. Both teams play bright, open football, and a fast, open game should be witnessed. When these two teams met a few weeks ago Pirates proved victorious bv 22 points to 9. and the Blacks are confident of again winning. University did not show their true form on that occasion, and are confident of putting 11 n a big fight against the Pirates on Saturday. As a curtain-raiser the President’s Grade match High School E v. Southern will be played, and as these are two of the best teams in this competition this match should also provide an interesting exhibition of Rugby. As the whole of the nroceeds are. being devoted to charity, there will be absolutely no free list excepting disabled soldiers.;- s
