LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AGREEMENT BETWEEN, PARTIES., TEST MATCH TO BE AT TAHUNA, It seems that the efforts of the local representatives of Rugby League Football to secure a suitable ground in Dunedin for a matoh between New Zealand and England have now been brought to a successful issue, and that the proposed matoh will rake place at Tahuna Park next Saturday. Yesterday afternoon an agreement in the following terms was reached and signed; 1. The O.R.F.U. agrees to the request of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society to allow the use of Tahuna Park on August 9 for the League match. The O.R.F.U. lias decided to hand over Tahuna Park for That day to the A. and P. Society to make such arrangements with the League authorities as the A. and P. Society thinks fit. 2. The League match to be played at Tahuna and the League forthwith to withdraw from For fury and cease the work of preparing the enclosure. 3. O.R.F U. to allow the Dunedin Coursing dub the use of JForbury enclosure on August 50 fear a coursing meeting to be held by it on that day. 4. The League to pay forthwith to the O.R.F.U. the sum of £75 expenses. 5. The injunction proceedings being now unnecessary will bo discontinued. 6. There are to be no payments of any kind to or by the O.R.F.U. t except as mentioned above, and no claim by the O.R.F.U. for damages for entry already made on the enclosure. The English League team for the first test to-morrow is as follows:—Full-back, Knapmsn; three-quarters—Bentham, Howloy, Rix, and Evans j halves —Mooney and Gallagher; forwards —Burgess, Bennett, Cunlitfe, Harwell, Thompson, and Price.
