WEATHER SUMMARY.

A DRY JULY. In pie northern cities of New Zealand July is usually a very wet me ;th, bub in Dunedin it is nearly always comparatively dry, and such has been th- erse since July. 1919, when the rain gauge worded a total fall of 1.62 in. During the past month, when rain fell on only 10 days, the fall amounted to 2.08 in, which is very light for a monthly period. Light showers were recorded on the 6th and 7th, and the weather remained mild and fine till the 17th, when a spell of showery days continued till the 23rd. The weather again remained fine till the 29th, when heavy showers foil, and the gauge registered .66 inches the following day, which was the heaviest fall during tho monthDuring July, 1923, 13 days "on which rain fell accounted for a monthly fall of 2.00 in, and in the same month of the previous year 11 showery days accounted for 1.78 in. In July, 1921, there vfcre also 11 wet days, and tho rainfall amounted to 1.40 in, while in July, 1920, in which there were only eight showery days, the monthly fall recorded was 1.24 in. In the same month of 1919 1.62 in of rain was the result of seven showery days—a remarkably fine month. Tho following were the points of rain recorded at 9 a.m. daily by Mr W.
