OTAGO HUNT.
The scene on Saturday afternoon at the old Taieri Racecourse was reminiscent of the days when the annual race meeting was hold there. There were fully 400 people ae-ecmbled to witness the weekly meet of the Otago Hunt Club, which, by the kind permission of the Ellis family, mas held on the old racecourse. 'The fences were fairly formidable, and took some negotiating, with the result that spills were numerous, but none was of a ecrions nature. The spectators also witnessed some two-year-olds from Salisbury and Wingalui in action, and. were greatly impressed by their galloping ability. Those who took part in the run were: Mr H. Brunton (master), on Sunbeam; Mr A. D. Edgar (deputy), on John Peel; Mr D. Wheeler (huntsman), on Dandy; Mr jJ. O’C’onnel iw-hip), on Mack; Mrs J. Dalzell, on Tornado; Miss Smyth, on Kenny; Mrs F. J. Conn, on Grey Heather; Mrs D. Wilson, on Dnndas; Miss 15. Greonslade, on Bloom; Miss Richards, on a bay; Messrs F, Thompson, on Strathglaas; A. Ruthven, on Cuirnrauir; J. Crawford, on Orange Bitter?; H. Callahan, on Beauty Light; A. Gassets, on Fabriano; A. E. Ellis, on Adjutor; R. Johnston, on Vincent; J. Carter, on Golden Sarto; L. M'Donald, on Sherlock; A. Morris, on Tainui II; H. Andertou, on Red Sol; S. Robertson, on Hnka; li. Merry, on Brownwing; L. Waite, on Overland; J. Smollie, on Ginger; W. Russell, on Bob; L. Simpson, on Black; J.
