“NIGHT LIFE” NON-EXISTENT-DIVIDENDS PAID IN BRAND Y- ( LONDON, June 5. “Money is becoming a nuisance in Germany,” the Daily Chronicle states. “There used to be too much, now there is, too little. ■■ This is due to the deliberate policy of Dr Schacht, President of the Reichsbank, who hopes to force the merchants to throw their goods on the market, thus dropping prices 20 to 24 per cent. As a fact prices are steadily increasing. It is difficult to change the equivalent of a £5 note. “The restaurants are almost empty. Night life in big cities is doing no business. Four Berlin theatres and a hundred kinemas have closed. The export trade is stagnant. There is an average of 20 bankruptcies daily. The number in May was three times that of April. Scores Jf well-known firms are passing dividends. The important distillery of Dornkat Co paid a dividend in bottles of brandy because cash was not available "
